NFPA 701 is the flame-propagation test most fire codes require for curtains in public buildings — a pass/fail standard, not a fabric type. FR (flame retardant) means the fabric was topically treated after weaving; the treatment works, but it can wash out over time and eventually needs re-testing or re-treatment. IFR (inherently flame retardant) means flame resistance is built into the fiber itself — it can't wash out and lasts the life of the curtain. Both FR and IFR fabrics in our catalog are tested to NFPA 701; each product's spec sheet tells you which you're getting.

Fullness is the extra fabric built into a curtain beyond its finished width, expressed as a percentage. A flat panel is 0%; 50% fullness uses one and a half times the finished width in fabric; 100% doubles it. Stage curtains typically run at 50–100% fullness for deep, light-blocking folds. Cubicle curtains usually run flat or at modest fullness — they're room dividers, not drapery. More fullness means richer drape and better light and sound control, and more fabric on the quote. Fire codes require ceiling sprinklers to cover the whole room — including the space behind a drawn curtain. An open polyester mesh panel at the top of the curtain lets sprinkler spray, smoke, and light pass over the fabric, so the curtain never creates a hidden, unprotected zone. Mesh height is specified to your ceiling height and local code.

Custom width and drop are the default when you order finished curtains, not an upcharge category — or take the fabric by the bolt and make it up your way. Either way, measure your track length and the finished drop you need; we'll advise on floor clearance and mesh allowance, and confirm all dimensions before anything is cut.

Almost certainly. Cubicle curtains are finished with grommets sized for standard track carriers and hooks. Stage curtains can be finished with grommets and tie lines for pipe, or with carriers for a traveler track. Yes. Multi-room cubicle projects, full stage packages, and trade accounts — contractors, scenic suppliers, facility groups — are quoted with volume pricing. Mention quantities in your quote request and we'll price accordingly.

We keep the warehouse well-stocked, so many fabrics carry zero-day lead times — in-stock goods and samples ship right away. Made-to-measure curtains are made up per order, so their lead time depends on the current production queue; we confirm the current lead time on every quote.

Products with direct pricing can be added to the cart and purchased online. Made-to-measure orders and anything with custom dimensions go through a quote request first — pricing and dimensions are confirmed by our team before any fabric is cut.

Nationwide across the United States. Shipping is calculated per order based on size and weight; large stage drapes may ship freight. Flame-certification paperwork ships with the curtains.

Made-to-measure and cut-to-order goods can't be restocked, so they aren't returnable — except when we got it wrong. If a curtain arrives defective, damaged, or off-spec from the confirmed order, contact us and we'll repair or remake it. This is exactly why we push samples first: approve the fabric in hand before we cut.

It depends on the rating. IFR fabrics can be cleaned normally — the flame resistance is in the fiber and won't wash out. Topically treated FR fabrics are the ones to be careful with: washing or wet cleaning can strip the treatment. Vacuum and dry-brush routinely, and use a dry cleaner experienced with FR drapery when deeper cleaning is needed. Check the product's spec sheet for its rating first.

IFR fabrics keep their rating for the life of the curtain — keep the certificate on file and you're done. Topically treated FR fabrics lose effectiveness over time, especially with cleaning and humidity, and fire marshals commonly require re-testing or re-treatment on a fixed cycle set by your local authority having jurisdiction. If you're not sure what's hanging in your venue, ask us and share whatever paperwork you have.

Cubicle-curtain fabrics are chosen to survive commercial laundering — each product's spec sheet lists wash temperature and instructions. Antimicrobial and fluid-resistant finishes are engineered to hold through repeated washing per the manufacturer's specs. Many facilities keep spare panels so rooms are never left without privacy on laundry day; we're happy to quote spares with your order.
